- I’m broadly interested in the relationships between academic knowledge, technologies, and markets. Using the scholarly publishing industry as an organizing case, my PhD research asks how market intermediaries make a difference to the production, dissemination, and consumption of ideas. I am looking at how long-held assumptions and conventions in this industry are being affected by economic and technological change, and I’m exploring how new conceptions of value and expertise emerge through processes of platformization and datafication.
