Bill Rees will talk about the vast changes in the second hand book world. It will be a kind of lament, which you may infer from the title.

Bill Rees is a Welsh writer, bookseller and former journalist best known for The Loneliness of the Long Distance Book Runner (2011), a memoir of life in the second-hand and antiquarian book trade. Rees worked as a newspaper reporter in London before exchanging journalism for a more unconventional career centred on books, travel and independent bookselling. His memoir draws on experiences in Wales, France and beyond, recounting the thrill of discovering rare editions, running bookshops, and meeting writers and fellow book collectors. Living between Bangor, North Wales, and the south of France, Rees has combined bookselling with a variety of other occupations, including translating French football commentary for a Dutch bookmaker
